Painter, Michael Doyle and Director of Somerville Manning Gallery, Rebecca Moore talk about Doyle’s solo exhibition.
Michael Doyle will be showing new works in a solo exhibition at the Somerville Manning Gallery October 19th through November 10th, 2018. An opening reception for the artist will be held on Friday, October 19th from 5:30-7:30 p.m.
Life’s richness is examined in Michael Doyle’s paintings, in which one finds intimate portrayals of interiors and landscapes. Doyle’s expressive brush strokes are accentuated by his experimentation with time-honored techniques. With his recent work, Doyle is exploring an expanded palette, with a wider range of colors than some may associate with his paintings. Doyle’s love of painting leads him to explore the relationships of objects to their surroundings through the study of light and color contrasts. By doing so, he recognizes the beauty in each landscape, still life, and interior he paints.
