Greg Mort Selected for the Rockefeller Center Flag Project 2022

Greg Mort has been selected for the New York City Rockefeller Center Flag Project 2022, a public art installation in partnership with the Climate Museum and United Nations Environment Programme. This year’s Flag Project will be the focal point of Rockefeller Center’s Earth Day celebration on April 22nd that will include free, public programming in coordination with the Climate Museum.

Artists from across the globe were asked to submit artwork inspired by what really matters: “Only One Earth”. Greg Mort’s winning artwork will be produced as a one-of-a-kind 8’x5’ eco-friendly, biodegradable flag that will be flown around the iconic rink at Rockefeller Center from April 1st to May 6th, 2022.

The Flag Project generated hundreds of incredible responses, garnering creative and inspiring submissions from around the world. Greg Mort’s artwork was chosen because it represents what the environment means to us, how we live sustainably and in harmony with nature, and the daily steps one takes towards positive climate action.

The Flag Project will help us usher in a new era of togetherness and human connection amidst a difficult time. These meaningful flags will be flown for all to see, in the heart of New York City.

The Rockefeller Center Flag Project 2022 exhibition is open to the public and no tickets are required. Rockefeller Plaza is located between West 48th and 51st Streets and Fifth and Sixth Avenues.
